My research interest revolves around various subdomains of NLP.

I am a Postdoctoral researcher at Durham University in Computer Science Department, working with Prof Stamos Katsigiannis.

I am working on a multi-disciplinary project AGENCY - ASSURING CITIZEN AGENCY IN A WORLD WITH COMPLEX ONLINE HARMS, focussing on Natural Language Processing for harmful online content (fake news, cyberbullying and hate speech detection). The project aims to Establish the required interdisciplinary scientific methods, techniques, technology and collaborative societal approaches to provide online agency to people in a world with complex online harms.

In my capacity as PDAR, I have embarked on an exploration of the misinformation domain, focusing particularly on the field of fact-verification. In order to gain deeper insights into this domain, I have actively participated in challenges such as FEVEROUS, where our team secured the First rank. Our primary achievement in this endeavor lies in the implementation of a multistage reranking approach aimed at identifying pertinent evidence and determining the veracity of given claims, classifying them as either SUPPORT, REFUTE, or NEI (Not Enough Information).

I obtained my PhD titled Design and Development of Spoken Dialogue System in Indic Languages from IT Department, IIIT-Allahabad, under the supervision of Prof Uma Shanker Tiwary. The objective of the thesis is to incorporate a modular architecture of a spoken dialogue system to construct a digital conversational system in a native Indic language, e.g. Hindi.
